Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California
So last year on april 18th my friends and I rented out a house in Palm springs CA. After we left the company that rented us the house out said that we did so much damage they were going to charge us $2093 dollars extra. Considering that my mother was the signer on the house and was not present when "alcohal" was present i didnt want to go to court to fight this. They told me that i would have to send them a check of the remainder of the money which was about $800 or they would gladly just charge my credit card. It has been almost a full year that I have not sent in the money, and they have not charged my credit card. Now before I ask them if they're ever going to charge me and basically remind them i owe them 800 dollars, I was wondering if they had a certain amouont of years which they could at any time charge me the money. Because I dont want to be 3 years down the line when they randomly just charge me. Please help!

Let sleeping dogs and landlords lie. They may have as long as 2 or 4 years, but in all probability they've written it off and you won't hear from them. Unless of course you were to volunteer to remind them.
