Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
IN 2005 I WAS ARRESTED FOR BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE AND WAS YO GOT TO COURT. i WAS HOMELESS AT THE TIME SO I FORGOT AND DIDN'T GO. WELL IN 2010 I GOT ARRESTED FOR THE FAILURE TO APPEAR AND I WENT TO COURT AND WAS SENTENCED TO PARTICIPATE IN A DEJ PROGRAM. WELL I STARTED GOING BUT AFTER A WHILE WAS UNABLE TO AFFORD TO GO. I WAS SUPPOSE TO GO BACK TO COURT TO GIVE A PROGRESS REPORT BUT DIDNT GO CUZ I GOT SCARED I WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THIS BUT I AM AFRAID TO GO TO JAIL CUZ OF MY KIDS. AND I CANT PAY ANY PROGRAMS RIGHT NOW. IF I GO TO THE COURT HOUSE WILL I MOST LIKE HAVE TO GO TO JAIL AND HOW LONG MIGHT I BE LOOKING AT?

Contact the public defender or an attorney and arrange to appear in court. This will give you the best chance of not being put into jail. The alternative is to wait for the police to arrest you on the warrant.
