Generally for misdemeanor, the District Attorney has up to one year to file charges.
You may get a letter with a new court date, but, to be sure, follow up with the clerk's office or have an attorney do it for you. Sometimes, if charges are filed later, the person is not notified and an arrest warrant issues. Good luck!
You can probably do nothing. It is possible that you will get a notice in the mail but it is also possible that you won't be charged. If you are the anal type you may call the DA's office and check with them periodically. But make sure that your conversation is limited to the question, "Am I being charged?"
