Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
If you are under 18 in Los angeles and you sleep on the roof of your school and you get caught would that result in a curfew and trespassing ticket? If so, is that a misdemeanor and how could you get out of it? Also, do schools post hours that you can be on campus cause I've never seen any signs?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Only a small part of your question can be answered. Yes, All cities, towns and counties have curfews for people under 18 years of age. At some point sleeping on the roof of a school from night to morning would violate the curfew statue. Next, yes it is trespassing, and schools have hours. The posting of the hours is somewhere on campus or in the paperwork you were given at the beginning of the school year. Trust me it is there. How could you get out of it?. ....... I have no idea as you have not supplied any facts regarding what happened or why you were there or what the situation was. It sounds like a misdemeanor as you have described it but again you have not supplied any facts in order to make that determination. Attorneys don't just pull rabbits out of their hats and make cases go away or get people out of charges because they are attorneys. Cases must be analyzed based upon the facts and the law. Cases can only be fought based on the facts and the law, and that includes things that happened and things that did not happen.
