What penalty does 2nd degree murder carry in the state of California? The defendant was found innocent of willfully discharging the firearm.

M2 is always 15 years to life plus various enhancements/penalties such as great bodily injury, use of firearms, strikes, etc. Defendant will be eligible for parole after serving a minimum of 15 years, although parole is rarely granted.
