Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
203pc Mayhem Sentences
My brother was convicted last week of mayhem & mayhem with great bodily injury. The GBI may be dropped at sentencing but I'd like to know California's sentencing guidelines for both charges individually and combined if possible.

Re: 203pc Mayhem Sentences
The penalty for mayhem is state prison for 2, 4 or 8 years. The court is to impose the mid term 4 years unless there are sufficient mitigating circumstances, in which case the 2 year term is imposed. If the are sufficient aggravating circumstances then the 8 year term is imposed.
