Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

3 Strike Law

My son at 17 was sent to a Boys Rehabiliation camp for 9 monnths for robbing two juveniles. He did his time and all

programs required by the courts and was released. He was not put on any probation because he was rehabilitated and is now over 18. He received 1 strike for this crime.

My question:

Is the 3 strike law the same for a juvenile as for an adult?

Does this strike transfer over into his adult years?

Thank you for your time.

Re: 3 Strike Law

Yes, some prosecutors do allege and attempt to use juvenile "strikes" against the now-adult defendant. We seemed to have gone through a period where prosecutors just used this filing as a negotiating ploy, to improve their position in settlement discussions. Should you have a need for more specific, practical application of this law, you may email me, (see below).
