Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My bofriend has 2 strikes from a previous case. We were in a car accident on easter of this year. He was charged with entering a speed contest, reackless driving, and child endangerment because are daughter was in the car. all of the charges are untrue. right now the are all misdeminors but will they try and strike him out? When does an accident turn into all this.
