Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
2 warrants in different county
My friend has 2 warrants in different counties. The first warrant was for failure to appear, but he already served time in LA county. The second warrant was for not completing his cal trans and is sentenced for 30 days in orange county, ca. where will he be serving time and how long? how does he turn himself in?

He should probably be represented by counsel. He may want to turn himself into court rather than a police station.

Your question does not really give all the information that would assist with the answer. However, your friend has a few options. He can go to a police station and simply turn himself in. He can call the public defender's and ask for assistance with matter and they may be willing to help him. He can call a private attorney and get some assistance. In the situation you have described he would be better off turning himself into the court rather than just walking into a police station. It would also help him to have an attorney help him get in touch with a bails bonds office so he can post bail and not have to stay in Jail. Good luck
Re: 2 warrants in different county
Best option would be to appear in court with counsel present. The longer he waits the more he risks that the penalties be increased. It is much much better to surrender voluntarily to court rather than waiting to be picked up by the police and brought in involuntarily. Assistance of good competent counsel could be critical in reducing potential sentence.
If your friend cannot afford private counsel he should contact the public defender's office as they should be able to assist him.
Feel free to contact me for further consultation if you are considering retaining private counsel.
