Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My 17 year old daughter was given a shoplifting citation. She is to appear in juvenile court next month. What should I expect? Also, I received a letter from a law firm asking for $200 should I pay this?

You should expect that the court will inform your daughter of the charges against her. Depending on your county, the circumstances of the theft, and your daughter's criminal/juvenile history she may be offered some type of diversion program to keep this off of her record.
You should pay for services that you received.
