Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Can I have a 20+ year old felony revised or appealed??? I received a felony with 140K joint restitution over twenty years ago. I have made monthly restitution payments but the other party has contributed peanuts compared to my payment to date. I want to know if there is a way to separate the restitution based on the grossly uneven amounts paid towards the fine.

Yes. Depending on your circumstances and the little information you have given, a good criminal attorney can try and accomplish this for you.
Your question is a bit vague. Most likely, you and the other defendant were held jointly and severally liable for the restitution award. If that's what happened, then you probably can't get the type of relief you're asking about. Joint and several liability is supposed to work the way you've described. You may have a valid civil claim against the other defendant, but that does not mean you're entitled to modify either your conviction or the terms of your restitution order. You should consult with a local attorney directly about the specifics of your case.
Good luck.
