I've got my 15 year old girlfriend pregnant?

My son is 18, soon to be 19, and he has a girlfriend who is 15. With parental permission, on both sides, he has been dating this girl for 8+ mos....she is now pregnant. We live in the California. If he states that he is the father, which he wants to assume all financial responsibilities for the child, could he automatically be arrested, even if the parents of the girl don't want to press charges?

I wouldn't call it "automatic", but it certainly could happen. You should note that parental permission for the couple to date did not make it legal for them to have sex, and it won't help very much if the D.A. decides to pursue this case.

You may want to post this question again under family law to see whether any lawyers in that field have advice for you. Situations like this one arise fairly often, but my sense is that family lawyers will be better able to guide you than will criminal defense lawyers.
