Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Hello I'm a 16 year old minor and in March I was charged with 11378 H & S. I was in school at the time I was charged and later was taken to the police station to be processed. When my parents came to pick me up we were informed of my court date. A few weeks later we recieved a letter stating we no longer had to go to court but could be summoned in the next three years. My question is, what would appear in a background check, and if anything does appear, does it get cleared when I turn 18 or how would I go about removing it. Thank you in advance.

When you become an adult, you can file a petition to seal your juvenile records. If the petition is granted, all records will be destroyed when you are 38. If you do not file a petition to seal, they will remain for the rest of your life.
