Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

About 3 years ago I had some financial problems which caused several checks I had written to bounce. The biggest check would have been about $300 and the others were less than $100. Could I be charged criminally for those bounced checks? If so, what is the likelyhood of me being charged and what is the statute of limitations?

The statute of limitations on most felonies is three years, so count forward from the last check you wrote, and if it is more than three years, you should be safe. If it is NOT more than 3 years, do not inquire of anyone about this issue or request any info on it. Let it lie.
