An attorney is absolutly advisable as juvenile dispositions vary widly from court to court, even Judge to Judge.
Whatever the outcome, be sure to petition the Court to seal the record after the minor is of age..it's not autmatic.
My practice is limited to homicide defense.

Whether or not to prosecute is not up to costco. Once the police become involved and a report is submitted to the da the decision lies with the da. Retaining an attorney to represent your daughter will help reduce the damage in this case. The first court appearance is as the other attorney stated is the arraignment. Normally the court will continue the case to allow the retention of an attorney. Starting sooner rather than later is a prudent policy.
