Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Accessing court documents and sentencing

my friend recently went on trial for a sexual assault charge. he told me he was found guilty of statuory rape. Booking told me he was found guilty of two counts of rape, false imprisionment, etc. His lawyer said the same. How do i go about accessing court documents to verify what they are saying. he still denies that he was convicted. He claims he is only looking a one year county time. What is the reality of that. Can i get a hold of paperwork showing his actual convictions. how many strikes is this.

Re: Accessing court documents and sentencing

Booking information usually consists of the charges that were brought initially and does not show convictions. Assuming this is an adult case, the court records are open to the public and you may get them by asking a clerk for that information.
