Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Accidentally discharged firearm in bedroom of house. Thought gun was unloaded. Round went into neighbors house. He declined to press charges. Sheriff did not arrest me. What am I facing going forward.

It's not up to the neighbor to "press" or "drop" charges. That decision is the DA's to make. The sheriff will write up their report and submit it for filing review. Without a cooperative victim, they may not file, but they can also go forward over his objection.
You may want to consult with a good local criminal defense attorney so you're prepared and/or try to prevent these charges from getting filed in the first place.
