Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Accused of Domestic Violence

on 3/14/06 I was arrested on allegations of domestic violence by my fiance'. We had been arguing and I'd held my hand up for him to see how badly I was shaking due to his screaming at me- he waved my hand away from his face and in doing so my nail caught on the tip of his nose scratching him. He thought that I'd intentionally tried to hit him not realizing that I was only going to hold my hand up for him to see shakiness. I was never cited my Miranda Rights before being questioned regarding situation and denied inflicting injury, nevertheless I was arrested- I had no idea that he'd suffered the scratch at all because I had turned around and went to our bedroom to try to extinguish the situation. My father bailed me out of jail and my daughters and I stayed in hotel for two days before coming to the house to get some things when my fiance'was home and wanted to talk about everything. It was only then that we both realized that this mess was basically a result of miscommunication and misinterpretation of the other's actions. We have both agreed to seek counseling for our communication/relationship issues. I'm unsure of how to proceed legally as is he. We would welcome any legal information that could be provided. Thank you.
