Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Need Advice on Assault and Battery

I got into a fight at someones house. Hours later a cop came to my house asking questions. The cop told me that the person I fought filed a report. He didn't arrest me, he told me that the District Attorney will judge whether or not to file charges against me since got I into a fight. I have a clean record and this is my first fight. My question is, do you think the D.A. will file those charges against me and will there a warrant out for my arrest? The cop told me the charges will be Assault and battery. What will happen to me?

Hello, whether a charge is filed against you will be determined by the District Attorney. If he does you will either find out via mial or by a visit from the police. Assault and battery is a very serious offense. Call us for a free consultation. We can help you with this problem.

There are many discretionary decisions that will be made in the next few days about this case, but what will happen can only be determined with knowledge of the particular offices involved. In other words, what they do in Los Angeles might not happen in San Francisco. So to answer this question, one would have to know where the matter is. Feel free to write me or call me to discuss this more fully. 310 393 0639
