Re: under age dating

In California, it is not merely sexual intercourse with a minor that is a crime. There is a statute called "annoying" a minor that can be anything from simple touching to more of a stalking/predator type allegation. Moreover, if the parents are against this and want to make your life difficult, they can file a report for everything from annoying phone calls (a misdemeanor) to something much more serious. What the police will do depends on your conduct and what the parents allege. Bottom line, anyone under 18 is not in control over their own life. Their parents are. If you do not have a good relationship with the parents, you could find yourself in serious trouble. By the way, there are statutory enhancements for conduct with a minor who is under 16 and more than three years younger than you.
