Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Agreement to pay
Can I get prosecuted if I signed an agreement to pay what I stole back to the owner? The owner wants to prosecute another person for the same crime. But then he said he wont prosecute if she pays it back...can this affect me if she gets prosecuted becuase she is unwilling to pay back the money. The owner made us signed a paper saying that we will pay him back through our paychecks. But this other girl is not willing to pay, so he wants to call the police on her. Will we get affected if she gets arrested and gets prosecuted. thank you

Re: Agreement to pay
Signing an agreement to pay to items taken from the store is a confession for the crime. If the employer reported this to the police the agreement would be provided to the police. The statement would be admissable at a trial.
