Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

when your name has been used as an alias

My deseased sister has outstanding warrants for her arrest, and used my name as hers in the past making me her alias. I was recently detained crossing the border from Mexico where I was told that I need to contact the states where the warrants were issued in order to clear this up. I can't seem to find out how I find out what states I need to contact. I don't know where to start

Start with the Sheriff's Departments in the counties that she resided in. Call me directly at 1.619.846.8947.

A place to start may be with the local DA where you KNOW the sister had a record...if there are warrants in your name in that jurisdiction they may help you find everything.

Also, check your record with the California attorney general identity theft unit...

Safest bet is to retain counsel to guide you through this as ID theft becomes a terror for the victim...and to protect you from being arrested on the false warrants!!!
