Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

An angry threat that got out of hand

got pissed over some heavy losses ($50K) in a stock and had an argument with the company's representitive. The company had just lost 90% of its value in 3 months. I demanded to talk to the CEO but he refused to talk to me. I lost my head and through two phone calls over 2wks left some angry messages. Saying ''he was a F** criminal, stealing from the company, and that he better look over his shoulder because I was going to kick his ass. And if he didn't resign he was dead.'' Yes some horrible things but it was just anger. I lost it alittle. NOW they filed a restraining order, demanded the police get involved, and are saying I am responsible for $40,000 in security fees but they needed protection over a 15 days span. WHAT DO I DO? I CONTACTED A LAWYER ABOUT THE RESTRAINING ORDER BUT I THINK ITS GETTING OUT OF HAND, EVEN FOR HER. Help?

Re: An angry threat that got out of hand

If the situation got out of hand for the lawyer you contacted, contact and get another lawyer involved. You should get more than one opinion about your case.

Restraining order could be fought although the main thing I would worry about is possible criminal charges for making criminal/terrorist threats.

You need a skilled and diplomatic lawyer to get on top of this situation as soon as possible, before any charges are filed.

Feel free to contact me for additional consultation.
