Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Do I need to answer ''yes'' to being convicted of a juvenile misdeamenor

I was arrested when I was a juvenile of misdeamenor burglary in 1988. I performed community service through the Probation Dept. and did not specifically request my record be sealed. I am applying for a new job and was wondering if I am can answer ''no'' to if I have been convicted of a crime. My understanding has been that I do not as it was a juvenile case and I did my sentence through Probation.

Read the question carefully. Normally they ask you if you've been convicted of a felony. You should also look into having your record sealed in juvenile court. You may also have the option of having your misdemeanor removed under Penal Code Section 1203.4.
