Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
if aperson is the protected person on a restraing order are they aloud to contact (phone calls text messages, etc.)the person they are protected from.

The restraining order does not limit the actions of the protected person.
If the contact was repeated and consistent, it might be considered harassment and the restrained person might be able to get a reciprocal order.
If you are subject to a restraining order, save the messages from the protected person and don't let yourself get suckered into violating the order.
