to get an appeal

my brother was riding with a friend they were drinking and on drugs, where pull over ,and search. he had a conceal weapon on his person , officer stated that he padded him down felt the gun and states that he pointed the gun at him and that he brougth him down to the ground another officer also got on top of him the other officer gun when off , my brother did not shoot at officer , all he did was refuse to obay officer and asalt verbaly the officer and was convicted of attempted murder on a peace officer was given 25 years to live , how hard will it be to appel the case and how much will a apeal cost

I would need to know a great deal more about the case before I could even begin to assess your brother's chances or estimate the cost of an appeal. What happened at trial will matter at least as much as what happened at the time of his arrest, and your question doesn't discuss the trial at all.

Keep in mind that your brother will be entitled to a state-appointed appellate lawyer (at no cost to him) if he is indigent. There may be good reasons to prefer a privately-retained attorney, but your brother won't have to make do without a lawyer if he can't afford one.
