Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Arraignment
A friend was arrested, supposedly for a controlled substance. And, there are many more details to this, but what I want to know is - Is it legal for them to have arrested her, held her for 2 days, then NOT held an arraignment hearing, but released her with an impending court date?

Yes. The pending court date is when she will be arraigned.
