Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was arrested in CA for assault with a deadly weapon (my car) & then released on a disp. Code 49b1. How long do they have to file formal charges against me?

Since you have been arrested for a felony, the district attorney's office has at least 1 if not 2 years from the arrest to file formal charges against you for the matter. I suggest that you consult with a criminal defense attorney to assist you in your matter.
