If in court he admits they were his can the judge drop the charge? I am worried of being deported I am a permenant resident and have been a registered nurse for almost 30 yrs.

You need to re-post this under the immigration law section. A judge does not drop charges, he finds you guilty or not-guilty and can dismiss the case, but it is unlikely your friend will change their statement and face jail for doing so.

While a judge cannot drop a charge, other than if he/she doesn't hold a defendant to answer after a preliminary hearing, you should speak to your lawyer about the strengths and weaknesses of the case against you. The mere fact that drugs were found in your car, does not mean, alone, that its a strong case against you. I wish you well.. David Wallin
