Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Arrested for DUI being under the influence of a controlled substance. A charge was added afterwards reguiring the individual to register as a drug offender. Then a sesslin affidavit was filed. What is a sesslin affidavit?

It's an affidavit named after a case from 1968.
California Penal Code 817 -- Probable cause; declarations; warrants; issuance; form; certificate of service (States that an officer's probable cause must be declared in a sworn written or oral statement.) See also People v. Sesslin, (1968) 68 Cal.2d 418 ("Article I, section 19 of the California Constitution states that "... no warrant shall issue, but on probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation.")
