Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Arrested for possession, but I was in bed sleeping.
Police towing my car, not regestered for 6 months. Did an inventory seach, found my id, misc. personal items and drugs. Woke my parents up, 3:00am. Mom wakes me up. Police ask questions, I didn't respond to questions, excepted when asked, "Is everything in the car your?" "Yes" (But I wasn't thinking of the drugs) /"What did we find in the car?" I said, "We both know what you found." The car was registered to my ex, but I had the signed pink slip. I was in bed slleping. First time arrested, no record w/ police. Should I fight the cases? Right to privacy?

Re: Arrested for possession, but I was in bed sleeping.
You need to get a copy of the police report and the criminal complaint filed by the district attorney and consult with an attorney.
You may want to consider the drug diversion program. It is a pain but would keep your record clean, providing you complete the diversion program.
