Assault Commited By Minor

My niece was assaulted by her 16 year ex- old boyfriend at school. He beat her unconscious, and assaulted a teacher as well. My niece's hospital bills total was 22,000 dollars ! Can we sue his parent for the medical bills?

Your niece's parents or guardians can sue, but you can't (unless you happen to be her guardian). The damages she could claim would include more than just the medical bills. Does the boy's family have the money to pay if she wins?

The child may also be able to file suit against the school. Your niece's parents or guardians lawyer should pursue all avenues to get these medical bills paid.
