assault with a deadly weapon.
on a tuesday night my friend was drunk at a party with girls. he was being called names by girls who were crystal meth attics. the girl through a glass bottle at him and he got mad and reacted by throwing a skateboard in her direction with his luck it hit her in the head and caused her to have to get stitches she pressed charges also he kicked down a door, and now he is in jail and charged with:
force/awd not firearm gbi.
vandalism $50,000 or more.
felony probation violation.
how long might he be in jail for?

He should have been to court by now, and the fact that he's still in jail suggests his lawyer was either unsuccessful in lowering his bail, or he had a public defender who doesn't care whether he stays in jail or not. Here is a great example of a case where hiring, or not hiring, a private lawyer will probably mean the difference between freedom and prison, or at least freedom and never being able to work again.
