"Sex abuse" isn't a criminal offense - there are specific crimes for specific conduct, but "sexual abuse" is a broad, non-specific term.
Crimes like rape, child molestation, forcible penetration, oral copulation, etc. are all criminal offenses and the attempt to do any of those sorts of things is also criminal.

All of the crimes Mr. Dane listed above are felonies. There are some others that can be filed either as a felony or misdemeanor. One of the big issues to determine through your attorney is the consequence of sex offender registration for life. There are still a few crimes that do not require registration but most do.
