Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
No Attorney
I was arrested for a felony, accessory after the fact, and I make $12 an hour. That makes me not qualify for a public defender but I don't have enough money for a lawyer. Can I go to court without an attorney and if so, what can they do to me?

Re: No Attorney
Under no circumstances you should represent yourself. I would call around to get quotes from private attorneys and then keep asking for a public defender if you cannot hire a private lawyer. BTW, lawyers will often take cases and will work on a payment plan with you.
