Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Can I get my $ back?

I live at the home where police were granted a search warrant and during the warrant a female cop searched me and came across $800 in my pocket and I told her that was my rent $ she let me hold onto it, but another cop as we were being taken in saw it in my hand and took it. I was given a reciept for it but it was not listed on the reciept and inventory sheet of everything they took from the house (my roomate had money they took about same amt but it is on the list) Is that a loophole large enough for me to be able to get my rent $ back before the end of case?

If you were not charged you should inquire as to the status of the hold from the police department and when they will release it to you. You may have to get a court order for its return at the department where the arraignment will be- Dept. 19 -felony or Dept. 2- misdemeanor. Please feel free to call me at (619) 222-3504.
