Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Background Investigation

I applied for a job position that requires me to be bonded, the background investigation was performed through a professional agency, my application was denied due to the information contained in that report, which included old warrants, one for a traffic violation in TX 14 years ago, and the other one for bounced checks also more than 10 yrs ago. Bad credit was also an issue. I want a clean start, I want to take care of those issues and make payment arrangements, but my fear is that now that the information has been revealed on that investigation, Will I be reported to the authorities? Can they use the information on my application to locate me? Can I add those charges in a bankruptcy proceeding? I feel awful, my past has haunted me enough.

Re: Background Investigation

You should contact an attorney and discuss the facts of your case. You should be able to take of the Texas warrant by paying it off. As to the bad checks you need to deal with the warrant. You will be able to reduce the impact of the bad check warrant by paying the bad checks off. You may not be able to discharge the checks in bankruptcy, and the fine associated with the traffic warrant will not be discharged.
