Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

backround checks

completed 1 yr probation and restitution for possesion of stolen property and embezzelment. in final hearing judge dismissed charges held against me and was told my record was to be expunged. will this show in my backround checks when applying for a new job? do i have to continue stating this in new job applications? can this be held against me in acquiring a new job? when the police or any company checks my background will any record indicate that i was in criminal court?

Re: backround checks

If your record is expunged then you do not have to reveal the conviction on job applications. The conviction is not supposed to show up but even if it does potential employer cannot used it against you.

I am wondering whether you also reduced your charge(s) to misdemeanor before you expunged. Very important step.
