bail renewal fee

is there such a thing as a bail renewal fee?my friend is currently going 2 court,out on bail and just got a letter stating he must pay another $1000.00 is he being screwed? C~

Look at the bail agreement. The fee he paid is a premium for the bond. This fee is often an annual fee, and must be paid each year. Most cases are resolved in less than a year.
