Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

need bench warrant

I have a signed court order for contempt for civil unlimited case.

Court says I need to follow some (?) procedure (possible criminal

law) to get a body attachment.

They also say I will need to give it to the sheriff. I need detailed

instructions and cannot find them in civil or criminal law procedure

books. What steps do I need to take?

Also, the order grants me legal cost. I sent notice of ruling for order

of contempt to other party. Is that okay?

Re: need bench warrant

Sounds like you have a witness that failed to appear to give testimony. Now you must find him and have the sheriff arrest him and bring him to court to testify or answer to a judgment. If you know this person's address, you need to visit the sheriff's office and follow their instructions for serving and arresting the witness. YOu will need to provide a description. If the sheriff's instructions are not clear, call me. (310) 806-9237. Good luck, --Phil
