Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Boyfriend charged with meth possession , second offense, please help!
My boyfriend is being charged with possession of meth and this is his second offense. The first time was 3 years ago and he did deversion. I'm scared for him. He really needs help but he just got laid off so he can't afford a lawyer. Can you get deversion if it's a second offense? He is so scared to go to jail and really needs rehab but his public defender isn't being much help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

He should be eligible for Prop 36.
