Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Boyfriend denies drugs are his wants me to take the wrap
My home was raided and searched for drugs, during the search of my car the officers found some herion that my boyfriend put in my purse without me knowing. He told them that it was his and went to jail. Then a few weeks later we were stopped and as we were being pulling over he put some meth in my purse. When asked I told the officer that there was some meth in my purse that belonged to him. He denied any knowledge of the drugs A(which is a total lie), So we were both arrested for trans and sales. My question to you is should i request to have my case heard seperate from his or together? Also can we both get charged for the same things?

You have to decide what to do. Do you throw your boyfriend under the bus to save yourself or do you take the bullet with him?
Answer that question first and your lawyer will help you proceed from there.

You need to retain an attorney to represent you, or have the public defender appointed if you cannot afford to retain an attorney.
The advisability of having a separate trial, assuming that the court will grant that motion is difficult to comment on without revieng the police report, etc.
Yes you can both be charged with possession of the the same packet of drugs.
