Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Boyfriend picked up, 2nd warrant for same possession charge in yolo county. The warrants were due to him not completing drug diversion program. He was unable to pay for it, no excuse I know. Would like to know what he will get as in terms of punishment. No record prior to being arrested.
