Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My brother's wife has filed a false 498a case in India against him and my parents. My parents are out of case after quashing.

-Can they disown my brother now to avoid further problems my wife may try to cause to them?

-Would be useful to disown him now at this stage?

-What are the steps to disown son?
