How long does the DA have to issue a warrant on a burglary charge?

First the DA does not issue a warrant. The court issues the warrant. The statute of limitations on burglary is 3 years. The DA can file a complaint any time during that 3 year period. Once the complaint has been filed the statute of limitations ceases to run, and there is not time limit after which the complaint is dismissed. You should consult with an attorney to review the facts and the possible defenses available.
