Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Business credit card

I started working for a very small business about 8 months ago. The nature of the business makes it necessary that the company provides credit cards to some employees, including me. Although I never asked for a credit card, it was given to me and I have used it for business purchases only. I did not sign a release or any authorization to run my credit, open a credit account, etc. While I was applying for credit at a jewelry store the other day, the lender asked to verify some information on my credit report and I was stunned to see the mailing address for my employer on my credit report. I was under the complete impression that any credit card I was given was a business card and that my personal credit would certainly not be affected. Furthermore, I am even more concerned given the delinquent status of many company debts including credit card bills.

1. Is it legal what has occurred by taking out a credit card in my name, which affects my credit, without my express consent?

2. Besides the fact that I am #### off and feel like I've been duped, is there any recourse to my employers actions?

3. How can I find out what information is now on my credit report because of this.

Thank you.

Re: Business credit card

Based on your statement your employer appears to have committed credit fraud. You should contact the police and report this conduct. Also consult with an attorney. I would also recommend that you contact the credit card company and cancel the credit card.
