business loss

a home based business owner wants

to make a insurance claim because

she misplaced a necklace and needs

to file a police report. She is blaming

me and for her loss. I did have the

necklace at one point and returned it

to her. She has since requested

information on myself, parents and

siblings (claiming the insurance

company is asking for it). 1. would

and insurance company ask for this

much information? 2. should I give

her the information? 3. what

happens next? 4. what information

do I need to show I need indeed

return the necklace?

I advise against submitting any information which can and will be interpreted against you as an admission of guilt. This sounds like a ruse to get you implicated or fraud on insurance company I would stay away from. You have no duty to cooperate with anything, especially if you are innocent.

On the other hand, if you are indeed guilty of theft and there is evidence of your guilt, it might be advisable to negotiate with the woman in order to avoid possible police investigation and charges. You should discuss this in detail with an attorney.
