Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Business/Criminal

I have 50% intrest in a construction company that is going under. I took a project out side of the company listing my name and the corportation as a dba. The checks were written to me personelly approx $50,000. Certen bill have not been paid due to my putting funds into other company projects. can I be charged with a criminal offense? At this point I have seperated from the company and now my partner says I had no right to take the project out side of the corporation even when I have witness statements saing he did. He does not want to allow the lic to stay with the company. What are my legal options.

Re: Business/Criminal

You could be charged with a theft crime for taking the money from one person to pay for another persons project. Contact an attorney immediately and attempt to work out arrangements to pay the unpaid bill. The disagreement with the partner appears to be a civil matter not a criminal matter.
