Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Can a California Appellate Court Judge on voluntary inactive status sit on the bench in a lower Court where he decides appeals from that Court?

All attorneys go to inactive status when they become judges, or justices of the California Supreme Court, or the Courts of Appeal. They are not allowed to be active members of the bar while they sit on the bench.
