Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
What is California law in regards to visitation of inmates in county or 'detention centers'? The inmate is over 18 and only charged at the present time and the visitor is a felon but is 'family' (Godfather) with no criminal history as a pair. Thanks in advance.

Because of the security issues, sheriffs have broad discretion to decide who can visit jail inmates.
Call the facility and ask. Their visitor regulations are probably available online, too.
If "godfather" is on probation or parole, it's far less likely he will be allowed to visit.
